Over the past six years, early childhood education fees have risen by 28 per cent.

Enrolling your child in high-quality, play-based early learning costs families, on average, $3,000 a year more than it did in 2013.

Early childhood education is great. It has immense benefits for children. Around 90 per cent of a child's brain development happens in the first five years. Giving children a boost in early childhood education helps harness that brain development.

It's also critical to ensuring parents and carers can work and enjoy fulfilling careers, safe in the knowledge that their children are being nurtured and taught.

It's also great for the community. Keeping parents in work is important for the economy, and helping children get the best start means helps keep their future secure.

We are asking for cheaper early childhood education, for the benefit of children, parents and carers, and the whole community.
