The Parenthood Newsletter January 2021

We're not two weeks into 2021 and the soaring cost of early childhood education and care is back making headlines. New reports have indicated there is no relief in sight for parents with fees expected to rise further.

Dear friends,

We're not two weeks into 2021 and the soaring cost of early childhood education and care is back making headlines. New reports have indicated there is no relief in sight for parents with fees expected to rise further.

The good news is we have a chance to make our voices heard! Jay Weatherill, CEO of Thrive by Five, is going to Parliament in February to call for a reform of the early childhood education and care system. You are an important part of this! He is asking parents, carers and educators to tell him exactly how this issue affects them so he can let our leaders understand the need for change.

We need to paint a picture for the decision-makers in Parliament, so that they can see the impact the current system is having on children and families right across the country. Tell Jay what our leaders need to hear.

MEMBER SURVEY 2020

Our member survey is still open until Sunday and we're already getting some amazing responses about the support you and your family need to thrive. We'd love to get another 100 responses before it closes off so please consider giving us five minutes of your time. Whether you're a parent, a carer, a grandparent or a supporter, your voice and opinion matters to us.

Wherever you were and are, I hope the holiday break treated you and your loved ones kindly. I'm really looking forward to working together with you this year to make Australia the best place in the world to be a parent.

Georgie
