Our executive director, Georgie Dent will give evidence to the Senate’s Select Committee hearing on Work and Care this Tuesday (20/09).

The Committee will hear from key stakeholders from across the care sector, unions and advocacy groups, about the challenges faced by the care economy and seek input on how to address them.

Georgie will provide the committee with recommendations developed by The Parenthood to bridge the “great care divide”, which has for too long put the onus of care on women, restricting them from actively participating in the workforce.

These recommendations include:
Increasing Paid Parental Leave in Australia to 52 weeks
Make Early Childhood Education & Care universally accessible across the country
Support parents and caregivers through family-inclusive workplace policies

Our submission is available here.
