Hard to believe it’s April already!
Time has been flying at The Parenthood HQ (and we’re sure not only here

Hard to believe it’s April already! Time has been flying at The Parenthood HQ (and we’re sure not only here😊). The first three months of 2023 were busy - and there is more to come!

Over a thousand of you sent an email to your MP asking for a pay rise for early childhood educators. Thank you! Our CEO, Georgie Dent, and two of The Parenthood’s board directors travelled to Canberra to deliver your message. Read more about their trip and see which MPs they met in the nation’s capital here.

MEDIA TRAINING
Are you interested in representing The Parenthood and sharing your experiences in the media on paid parental leave, early childhood education and care, or family friendly workplaces?
If so, please join our Media Training on May 17 at 12:30pm AEST! All our online training sessions are family-friendly, so kids are more than welcome to be in attendance.

ADVOCACY TRAINING
We want to make Australia the best place in the world to be a parent. It's no small feat - but it is possible - if parents and carers like you volunteer with us.
Now, we get it. Parenting is a MASSIVE unpaid job already and to add volunteering on top of that can be a lot! That's why our volunteering is flexible, family-friendly and fun (or we like to think so!) So join us on May 23rd at 7:30pm AEST to learn more, meet others and hear from current volunteers.

MULTIPLES AND THEIR FAMILIES NEED BETTER SUPPORT
Australia does not provide additional leave to multiple birth families, unlike most advanced OECD economies. 67% of parents of multiples think early childhood education in Australia was not affordable for their family. What are the unique challenges of multiple birth families in Australia and how can we improve the level of support? Get all the info in this new report by the Australian Multiple Birth Association.

THE PARENTHOOD IN THE MEDIA
An essential part of our work is to ensure the voices of parents and carers are represented in the media. Thanks to the support of more than 80,000 people we’ve secured a seat at the table to have a say on key debates - and that’s reflected in the media. Here is a link list to some articles of the first few months of 2023 featuring our work:
